Over the last 18 years, a passionate group of supporters called 'Women for Women' have made a tangible difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable women in our community.
The Women for Women, and their generous network of friends, have continued to support Sacred Heart Mission's Women's House through thick and thin. You have helped to keep the doors of this safe haven open each and every year since 2003.
With the support of the Women for Women, the Women's House has changed the lives of thousands of women. Women without a home who have nowhere to turn.
They will always find a safe, supportive space at the Women’s House.
Your support today is more vital now than ever before. COVID-19 continues to push women in Victoria to the brink, as they're unable to afford rent, mortgage payments, or daily living costs.
There has been a surge in cases of domestic violence since last year and women in our community need a trusted network of women they can turn to when they hit rock bottom.
We are amazed and humbled by the support that you and everyone connected to the Women for Women continue to engender in others. Raising vital funds and making enduring friendships along the way.

What is Light Up A Life?
For the past 18 years, a group of Melbourne-based women has come together as Women for Women to raise money in support of Sacred Heart Mission's Women's House. 'Light up a Life' is their longest standing event, having raised over $2 million over the years to support and empower marginalised women in our community.
In 2018, a second annual event on International Women’s Day was launched. Inspired by what they saw at the Light up a Life Lunch, an enthusiastic group of new ambassadors organised a new generation of Women for Women around a cocktail party.
In 2021 we have combined our annual cocktail party and lunch for double the fun! You can buy tickets to the party on Thursday 25 March, from 6pm to 9pm at the MARS Gallery, 7 James Street, Windsor here.
What is the Women’s House?
The Women’s House is in Robe St in St Kilda. For over 30 years, it has provided care to the most chronically disadvantaged women in our community. In an average year the Women’s House opens its doors more than 7,000 times to anyone who identifies as a women. They come to seek support, a meal, a shower, a pathway out of homelessness and a place to rest.
The Women’s House also provides assistance for women with housing, physical and mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, family violence, financial and legal matters, and social and life skills. Each woman is unique, but they all have one thing in common: trauma.
